Well it wasn't far from it and I definitely can't tell you enough how amazing/different the South is. I'm so glad we made an unexpected turn through this state to stay with one of Cayla's amazing friends. They were all so welcoming and made our time there an absolute blast. We saw the gulf shores which was full of white sandy beaches. The water was the warmest water I've ever felt and seeing real jellyfish was a crazy experience but also very terrifying. I was grabbing onto Cayla's arm for dear life, dodging jellyfish after jellyfish about every foot or two. She eventually got stung. We went in again at night when we couldn't see anything but it was so warm and inviting that we couldn't resist. That was definitely the highlight of my trip. Especially when we saw glowing sand at night. Canoeing on the bayou with alligators was pretty cool too. I never knew Alabama could be so beautiful.

Alabama
When I first envisioned what Alabama would be like, I thought about drinking sweet tea on the big porches of beautiful colonial homes. You know, like in Forest Gump?
