New ongoing project: Smile
I decided to take on a new project that I am in love with. I think I want to call it Smile or something along those lines. This project is all about revealing true personality through expressions. I find that people are also less shy and therefore easier to capture when you say you only want a picture of their smile.
I was using my new canon 1.8 portrait lens... but I decided to take it back to wait and save up for the 1.4... Therefore I am putting this project on a hold until I can scramble up enough money for the 400 dollar purchase. I am working two jobs right now so hopefully that will be sooner than later.
Here is a sneak peak of the unedited and sort of untitled future project I will be doing...

Canby by Night
My mom lives in Canby, Oregon which is basically all country side. It is so dark at night that you can see every star in the universe and the moonlight illuminates the bales of hay <3

P-town
Portland is where my heart is. I was born but unfortunately not raised in this fantastic city. Sometimes I contemplate moving there because all my family is up in Oregon, but I decided to save that venture for my baby makin years.
I took one of my best friends for our second trip together this passed week for my grandma's 90th birthday. Every now and then we would make a big escape to explore downtown. Many more Portland posts to come.
And of course you cannot leave Portland without trying the incredibly delicious microbreweries. This place I went to in the Hawthorne was dedicated to tall boys, which were all microbrews.

Fort Ord in Color
Fort Ord is a fascinating location for the abandoned. It used to be a military post which operated from 1917-1994 (courtesy of Wikipedia). Now co-existing alongside Monterey State University and other random facilities, it creates a very peculiar environment. People in the community drive through roads that weave around these pieces of living history on their commutes to work and seemingly think nothing of their presence.
This place is incredibly massive and has endless opportunities for exploration. It was so hard to pack my camera up and go home. This is a highly recommended voyage for anyone who is a camera cuddlier.
Here is the album with the most chairs, windows, and doors you will ever see. I also noticed that an unusual amount of vertical photos were selected for this shoot.
I titled this Fort Ord in Color because I plan on posting my black and white ones eventually.

Honorable Mentions
Welp I thought I should share that I got Honorable Mentions from the Crossroads Trading Fashion Photo Contest for two out of three of the photos I entered. Yeah it's not first place or anything but that means a hundred bucks in my starving wallet.
I am so excited. I'm putting that shit on my resume.
