Well it wasn't far from it and I definitely can't tell you enough how amazing/different the South is. I'm so glad we made an unexpected turn through this state to stay with one of Cayla's amazing friends. They were all so welcoming and made our time there an absolute blast. We saw the gulf shores which was full of white sandy beaches. The water was the warmest water I've ever felt and seeing real jellyfish was a crazy experience but also very terrifying. I was grabbing onto Cayla's arm for dear life, dodging jellyfish after jellyfish about every foot or two. She eventually got stung. We went in again at night when we couldn't see anything but it was so warm and inviting that we couldn't resist. That was definitely the highlight of my trip. Especially when we saw glowing sand at night. Canoeing on the bayou with alligators was pretty cool too. I never knew Alabama could be so beautiful.

Alabama
When I first envisioned what Alabama would be like, I thought about drinking sweet tea on the big porches of beautiful colonial homes. You know, like in Forest Gump?

New Orleans
New Orleans is definitely one of my favorite cities in the U.S.. It's full of life; Whether that's through the prevalence of wondrous colors or the mere fact that the party never dies. It's full of cafés, restaurants, bars, and music on every street corner. Definitely a very photogenic place to be but still difficult to fully capture it's essence. I definitely want to go back and have all my reunions in this city... I almost considered renting a place here and letting my friends continue the road trip without me. I'm a sucker for beautiful cities. And good music.

Austin Texas
This is the first post of my month long road trip that I just returned from. It stretched all the way from San Francisco to Atlanta and back. Since I did not have the money to travel to another country, I figured what the heck, I haven't seen a lot of the United States... Why not give that a shot? It was well worth all the hassle. You see, I caught mono right before our departure date and had to push my mono ass in the car for a 6,300 mile adventure. Many people told me I was crazy. They clearly don't know how much traveling means to me.
When I got to Austin I surprisingly started to feel much better and completely forgot about my sickness and a recent hardship I went through. I ended up falling in love with Austin. It's fantastic. Like an upbeat bay area city with a lil cowboy flare and TONS of live music; it was my kinda place. Minus the heat.
We stayed in a cute town called Georgetown, where one of the road trip members (Andy) had a high school friend who was going to school there.
We went to Austin City Limits (best show of my life!), had amazing food, coffee, and beer, went to amazing vintage stores, and went canoeing through downtown.
This bridge from both sides:
When we drove through the seemingly endless drive through Texas, I saw my first Texan electrical storm... it was phenomenal. I kept taking pictures of the same cloud while driving... It just kept changing so drastically!
Burning Man
I went to burning man for my second year in a row. Obviously nothing can compare to being there but here is my attempt to show you it's amazingness. Normally when I start talking about burning man I can't stop but as you may have noticed I haven't posted anything in quite sometime; I've been on a month long road trip through the united states and I have 20 Gigs of pictures to sort through and post!
The most beautiful wedding I've ever stumbled upon:
